The rules for using MatchApp LB: your account, how the game works, playing fairly and what each of us is responsible for.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and MatchApp LB ("we", "us") about your use of the
MatchApp LB app and the services behind it. By creating an account or signing in, you agree to them
and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, or under the age of
majority where you live, you may use the app only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who
accepts these terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
Give us a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what
happens on your account.
One account per person. Accounts may not be sold, shared or transferred.
Your username and display name are public. Do not choose one that impersonates someone, or that
is offensive or misleading.
Tell us straight away at support@matchapplb.com if you think someone else has used your account.
4. The game
MatchApp LB is a free-to-play fantasy basketball game built around the Lebanese basketball
league. You build a squad within a salary cap, make transfers, play in leagues and score points from
what real players do in real games.
It is a game of skill for entertainment. It is not gambling, there is no real-money
betting, and points, XP, levels, badges, tiers and in-game prices have no cash value and cannot be
exchanged for money.
Scores come from official statistics. We take them from the league's data
providers. When a statistic is corrected, or we find an error in how a score was worked out, we may
recalculate points, standings and rankings, including for gameweeks already played.
We may change the game. Scoring rules, prices, deadlines, chips and features can
change, and a gameweek can be moved or cancelled when real games are postponed.
Prizes. Unless we announce a prize in writing with its own rules, there are no
prizes. A league's "stakes" are a description written by its members; we do not hold, pay or enforce
them.
5. Fair play
You agree not to:
use more than one account, or bots, scripts or automation, to gain an advantage;
exploit a bug instead of reporting it, or try to reach data or accounts that are not yours;
interfere with the app or its servers, or scrape them;
harass, threaten or abuse other managers, or post anything hateful, sexual, violent, illegal or
that infringes someone else's rights;
use the app for advertising or spam.
6. What you post
You keep ownership of the pictures, team names, comments and other things you add to the app. You
give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, show and share them within the app and in the links
managers share from it, for as long as they are on the service.
We may review, hide or remove anything that breaks these terms. Pictures can be reported by other
managers and are checked by our moderators; an account that has pictures taken down repeatedly may lose
the right to upload them.
7. Wastah membership
Some extras are part of an optional paid membership, Wastah. Where it is offered, the price,
what it includes and how it renews are shown before you buy. Payments are taken by the payment provider
or app store you buy through, under its own terms. You can cancel at any time and keep the benefits
until the end of the period you have paid for; payments already made are not refunded except where the
law or the store's own rules require it. We may change what the membership includes or what it costs,
and will tell you before a change affects a renewal.
8. Our content and other people's
The app, its design, code and text belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only to play
the game.
Club names, crests, player names and photographs belong to their owners and are used to describe the
real league the game follows. MatchApp LB is an independent game and is not run by, or endorsed by, the
Lebanese Basketball Federation or any club.
9. Suspension and closing your account
We may suspend or ban an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why when you next
try to sign in.
You can close your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account. Your name,
username, email, photo and personal details are erased and your posts, comments, reactions and follows
are deleted. Your teams stay in the leagues they played in, shown as a deleted manager, so that other
managers' results do not change. The privacy policy explains this in
full.
10. No guarantees
The app is provided "as is". We work to keep it running and its scores correct, but we do not
promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that live scores and statistics will be
complete or on time. Advice, projections and suggestions in the app are opinions, not promises.
11. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost points,
ranks or league results, or for anything caused by events outside our control, such as a data
provider's outage. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us
in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50 if that is more. Nothing in these terms limits
liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page says when they last changed. When a
change matters, the app will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in; carrying on
using the app after that means you accept it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and the courts of Beirut have jurisdiction over
any dispute, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
